Can unmarried girls worship lord Hanumanji and chant Hanuman chalisa?
Yes definitely!! Lord Hanuman listens to the soul, which does not have any gender.
In her previous life, Urmi was a farmer’s wife in a tiny village. Her name was Chandra. Once, a group of monkeys that appeared to have lost its way from the jungle ended up in her village. The notorious bunch of villagers threw stones at them, chased them from one roof to another
On the fourth day, hungry and bruised and exhausted, they sheltered themselves on the roof of Chandra’s house.
Chandra’s nine-year-old son had climbed up the ladder to see the monkeys. He stood on the uppermost step of the wooden ladder with only his head sticking out to see the creatures sitting on the roof. When the troubled monkeys noticed his presence, one of them screeched.
The boy got scared and lost his grip on the ladder. He fell down and was knocked unconscious; his head hit the ground directly. Chandra screamed for help. Her husband, who was working in the fields, came running and ran back to bring a doctor
While the owners of the house were busy caring for their injured son, the crowd threw stones on the roof. The scared monkeys had to get down and run for their lives. After a couple of minutes of foolish attempts at escape, they returned to the safest place they knew, the roof of Chandra’s house.
When the violent youths approached the ladder to go on the roof, Chandra shouted at them in fury. This time she raised an objection when some of them started throwing stones to displace the monkeys. She had no conscious thought of saving the monkeys, nor did she have anything to preach to the crowd. She shouted purely out of her instinct, and she kept shouting ‘Get away from my house’ until the last person in the crowd went away and disappeared from her sight.
Her sympathy for the helpless monkeys was so deep-rooted that it didn’t disappear even in the hour of crisis, and so natural that it needed no conscious thought to trigger an action.
She threw the food on the roof and came down. Not a single thought crossed her mind about what she had done. She acted as though the monkeys were her family members and it were her daily routine to give them food. She returned to her kitchen and got busy finding more work to do.
She had no idea she had performed the greatest act of kindness, and that is precisely why it was the greatest. This seemingly small act of hers sent tremors through the entire establishment of Time-Space. They were felt by those who are beyond Time-Space, the Devas, the gods.
The immortal Lord Hanuman was meditating in a jungle at that moment. He woke up and asked Kala, the God of Time, ‘Did you feel that, Kala? A human soul has attained Godhood somewhere. Tell me, who is this monk whose penance has yielded results?’ ‘Chandra is her name,’ replied Kala.
