A woman hailing from Uzbekistan was found murdered in a hotel room in Karnataka’s Bengaluru on Thursday.
As per police, the deceased, identified as Zareena, had come to Bengaluru four days ago, on a tourist visa and stayed at the hotel near BDA Bridge in Seshadripuram area.
On Wednesday, at around 10:30 pm, the hotel staff were alerted by one of Zareena’s friends over the phone to check on her. According to a report, the staff knocked the door of the room for a long time, but after receiving no response the room was opened using a master key.
As the staff entered the room, they found Zareena’s dead body lying on the floor with her face covered with blood.
The police were informed immediately, and preliminary investigations suggested that the Uzbek woman had been murdered.
As per officials, Zareena was punched on her face as injury marks were found on her body. The police are suspecting that she was strangulated to death.
Investigations have also revealed that a man named Rahul Kumar had booked the room for Zareena till March 16.
The police complaint in connection with the case was lodged by Hotel Manager Gaurav Kumar Singh . Further investigation is currently underway.
