The video, shared on the social media platform X (Formerly Twitter) by “Buitengebieden,” quickly gained traction with its caption, “Baby lion practicing his stalking skills on its mom…” Garnering over 4.2 million views and more than 3,000 likes, the clip sparked a flurry of comments. A user commented, “he’s actually practicing important skills that he’ll need later in life when he’s out hunting and stalking prey,” while another cheered, “Successful attempt with mama lion!”
A user chimed in, remarking, “Haha, that’s adorable and hilarious at the same time!” Meanwhile, a user drew a relatable parallel, stating, “LOL! I feel you, lion mom! It happens with human moms, too!”
According to a report from SWNS, the footage was shot at the Royal Zoological Society in Scotland’s Edinburgh Zoo. In August, the lioness named Roberta gave birth to five cubs, sadly, only three survived. SWNS also reveals that the cubs’ father is Jayendra, an Asiatic lion who has been a resident of the Edinburgh Zoo since 2012. Roberta joined shortly after, arriving from Magdeburg Zoo in Germany two years later.
