The latest horror thriller Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, is doing well at the box office. Even with new movies like Siddharth Malhotra’s Yoddha and Ada Sharma’s Bastar – The Naxal Story, the film is holding its ground. On its 8th day (2nd Friday), it made Rs 4.5 crore, showing that people are still interested in watching it. Sacnilk’s latest box office report shows that Shaitaan’s earnings on Day 8 didn’t decrease much compared to Day 7, suggesting that people are still interested in watching the movie. This is impressive considering the movie had a strong first week, with consistent performance even on weekdays. Shaitaan made a strong start on its release day, March 8, earning Rs 14.75 crore in the domestic market. The following Saturday, it saw a significant growth of 27.12%, bringing in Rs 18.75 crore. Sunday had another increase of 9.33%, reaching Rs 20.5 crore. Although Monday experienced a dip of 64.63% with Rs 7.25 crore, the movie has continued its steady performance. On Tuesday, it earned ₹6.5 crore, followed by Rs 6.25 crore on Wednesday.
As of Day 8, Shaitaan has earned an impressive Rs 4.5 crore in India and crossed Rs 115.25 crore worldwide. The film’s success is credited to its engaging story, great performances, and the popularity of its lead actors, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Shaitaan also features Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj in important roles. With its stronghold on the box office, Shaitaan is expected to continue its successful streak, solidifying its position as both a commercial hit and a favourite among critics.
Drawing comparisons to the movie Drishyam, this film also centres around Ajay Devgn’s character’s struggle to protect his family from harm. He portrays a content husband who plans a retreat to his farmhouse in a secluded hill town to enjoy time with his loved ones. Their peaceful getaway takes a dark turn when they encounter R Madhavan’s character, who hypnotises Devgn’s daughter, played by Janki Bodiwala, using black magic. Madhavan claims control over the daughter and intends to take her away forever. The film’s music is composed by Amit Trivedi.
