Paytm FASTag deadline: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued an advisory for Paytm FASTag users asking them to procure a new FASTag from a different authorised FASTag issuing authority or bank before March 15, in order to ensure a smooth travel experience and avoid inconvenience at toll plazas.
An official statement said on Wednesday that switching to a different FASTag will help users avoid penalties and double fee charges while traveling on the national highways.
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s guidelines on restrictions for Paytm Payments Bank, Paytm FASTag users will no longer be able to recharge or top up their balance after March 15, 2024.
Users can, however, continue to pay tolls with the existing balance after the deadline, it added.
NHAI also advised Paytm FASTag users to contact their respective banks or refer to the FAQs on the IHMCL (Indian Highway Management Company Limited) website.
NHAI has urged all Paytm FASTag users to take proactive measures to ensure a seamless travel experience on the National Highways across the country.
